MSI - package format of the future?
Microsoft made with their 'Microsoft Installer Service' a software configuration engine available which will gain importance as more manufacturers will use their functionality.
However, Microsoft is counting on companies like us to provide the business logic on 'what shall be installed where at which time'.
Columbus therefore integrates the services of this new engine to offer the customer the option to choose on a 'per application basis' if a new package shall be created or an existing MSI shall be used.
